NIKK OGASA
Science Journalist for Science News
I'm a science journalist now based in Washington, D.C. I'm drawn to stories about climate change, but I also enjoy writing about many other areas of science, from tiger sharks to jazz beats to life on Mars.
I cover the physical sciences for Science News as a general assignment reporter. Before that, I wrote for publications such as Scientific American, Science, Mongabay and the San Jose Mercury News.
I hold an M.S. in Science Communication from U.C. Santa Cruz and an M.S. in Geology from McGill University. I also possess a B.S. in Earth Science from U.C. Santa Cruz.
