I'm a science journalist at Science News, based in Washington, D.C. My beats span the physical sciences, and include climate science, earth and planetary science and astrophysics. In 2021 I graduated from the U.C. Santa Cruz Science Communication Program.
I've previously written for Science, Scientific American, The Scientist, Inside Science, Eos, Mongabay, the San Jose Mercury News, San Jose Inside, and the Monterey Herald. My work has been republished by outlets like The Washington Post, ABC News, Yahoo News, Astronomy, and the East Bay Times.
A couple years ago I earned an M.S. geology from McGill University, and before that researched earthquakes at the U.S. Geological Survey. Though I'm no longer digging into the history of our planet, I'm still chasing some of the most captivating stories that science has to offer.
